Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised alongside 12 other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she learned to read and write, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. At the age of 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. As a student in high school she established herself locally but dreamed about having a bigger stage. On the very day she was able to graduate from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton was hired in 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton, after the split of their collaboration with Wagoner was the one to write"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and made it to Number. First time, in 1974.
